This is my first post, so if I’m in the wrong area please tell me. I bought a Samsung tablet Tab S This is our first experience with a tablet of any kind as it was bought specifically for her to use during chemo treatments.

It worked flawlessly for about the first 7 months and than started having issues with it not charging. This was an occasional occurence, but was getting more and more frequent.

We took it back to Best Buy and the Geek squad sent it out and it came back stating that the battery and charging cord were defective and were both replaced, that was the 3rd week of April.

It has now started doing the same thing again. At times it seems to run down fairly quick compared to other times, and the charging period is getting longer and longer.

Can someone give me any where to look, or tell me what the actual charging time period should be for this? It’s only really used for EMAIL’s and gaming simple games for entertanment during her treatments, and at night at home also.

The first thing you want to do is download an application from the app store called “Battery Monitoring Widget”.

I recommend the free version since you will most likely only use it once or twice. These are all dependent on YOUR tablet so for accuracy it will need to be done on the tablet in question.

Once you have the application downloaded and installed. Plug your tablet into the charger and wait for the application to refresh depending on how long you setup the time for it to check it could take 5 mins to refresh.

That would give us a charge time of 7. Again this is just an estimate as it is very much dependent on the efficiency of your charger, the internal resistance of the battery, as well as other variables.

After that i charged my tab and left it a couple of minutes, but when i see the charging bar it dosent gain power. Actual battery life depends on factors such as network, features selected, frequency of calls, and voice, data and other application-usage patterns. Went to BB where they almost new me by name. They kept telling me the updates were not going through so they updated several times. After a few of them the battery life kept getting worst and worst.

They replace the mother board only. Thought that should help well by now the warranty is done and over and I have replaced the battery myself.

Easy as pie is no longer under warranty so who cares. It did work and has continued to work now for quite some time.

Until Samsung gets this battery thing figured I will lay low on their products. They made it very hard when they got rid of the extended battery you use to be able to buy for the S4 phone.

My husband does not have to charge his phone half as much as I do my S And no I am not turning off apps I did not buy these products to turn apps off.

Had ther same issue with my wife’s Tab S, Would not hold a charge. Had to fight Samsung’s repair center.

Felt this was a not a new issue with them. No two answers were the same and had to get Samsung Corproate involved.

That suggests they don’t fix unless obvious signs of damage or to perform same customer to use factory reset. Just as 90 day warranty expired on that problem, suddenly, wifi would not connect after initial startup search.

After troubleshooting on chat line, complete factory reset wouldn’t fix it. Pay for a fix on a wonderful tablet in terms of color, operating characteristics, or just buy another.
