Go to Solution. I can say for certain that I have a vodafone smart ultra 6 and have no problem using screen cast. No lag at all and I wouldn’t expect it as all the app on the phone does in most cases is send instructions to Chromecast to go on the web and watch a video for instance on netflix.

I have recently purchased a google Chromecast streaming device to use with my Vodafone smart ultra 6 to cast content to my TV.

I have only now realised the Vodafone smart ultra 6 is not optimised to run Chromecast. That is not to say Chromecast will not work.

It will work but may cause lagging or problems.

Thanks for clearing that up. No, you can ignore the support chart as not all devices are listed. Stream is different to using chromecast app. The chrome cast is a dum device in most cases and the chromecast app just tells it to access such and such a website and play what you want.

Mobdro will also suffer as it’s not an extremely reliable app anyway due to where it gets it’s signals from. But I can assure you all things being equal I have no problems with lag using either the chromecast or allcast apps on my ultra 6.

Thanks cookie. Great help. Screen mirroring will not work for me for some reason. So I can’t show any app I want on the TV.

Do you know why this is? My Chromecast is connected and works with apps like YouTube and Spotify because they are able to cast without mirroring of screen.

I dont use that but now that I’ve tried it i can see it’s not working on the ultra. Although I suspect this has something to do with screen and app optimisation rather than a device limitation.

Short of google approving and optimising the app for chromecast I suspect this wont be happening anytime soon. I use Allcast app for any other streaming I want.
