Call quality was quite decent on both earphone and speakerphone, the speaker was better than expected, and the metal case is quite fancy.

Security patches were up-to-date at the time of writing, and an update to Android 8 is bound to arrive any day now. Were it not for its ginormous battery, the ZenFone 4 Max would probably be considered just another fish in the sea of Android smartphones.

However, if long battery life is of relevance to you, the ZenFone 4 Max is definitely worth considering.
